Today is our annual BBQ held right here at home. We usually have between 75 and 150 people to show up. We have been working this morning to set up tables, ice cream machines, slushy machines, and start the turnip greens & potatoes. The BBQ is already in the warmer and I have a big pot of white beans ready.
Everyone that comes will bring a dish that goes with BBQ and we will have a great time. There will be music, volley ball, horse shoes and a hayride at dusky dark.
It takes a lot to put this together, but in the end it is well worth it. To see the children running and playing on the farm is a joy. After all, some of these children and parents live in the city and coming out to our place is a big treat for them.
I am spending a little down time right now, waiting until they start showing up. I am going to try and finish another step in my quilt mystery and also embroider a new hand towel. I am just trying to relax for a few hours before all of the excitement starts.
