In my Book of Days group we are reading the book, "Soulistry...Artistry of the Soul by June Mack Maffin. We are reading the prompts each week and then creating an art page in our journal. This is my front cover that I have created.
The picture is an oil painting titled "Miranda" by John William Waterhouse He painted this in 1875 and for years it was thought to be lost until 2006. This is the quote listed on the back of the painting that most believe Waterhouse wrote himself.
Miranda, "Oh, I have suffered with those that I saw Suffer! A brave vessel who had, no doubt, some noble creature in her dash'd all to pieces. Oh, the cry did knock against my very heart. Poor souls they perished."
In a way the painting and the quote speaks to me by saying that yes, I was lost, but have been found and yes my heart has suffered, but I survived, I did not perish. I decided to use the quote inside my journal instead of on the front. I thought the words Seek and Find were more appropriate.
