DaVinci Study

As I sit at the hospital, with my mother, I try to keep my mind occupied. I worked on this drawing Saturday. It is a study of a DaVinci drawing. Mother is making improvements and we might get to go back to the nursing home today.

Orange Brites

This painting is my first attempt at using transparent oil paints.  First thing is to lay down your background is dark transparent colors.  Next you lay I the medium colors andontop of that's the light colors which create the highlights. I really enjoyed the process and stepped out my box. I have plans for other works using this process.

Crazy Quilt

I hope everyone is doing well.  Our family is finally beginning to get settled down from surgeries and illness.  I appreciate all the prayers that have been given for my mother-in-law.  My days are almost back to normal, whatever that is in today's world.

I'm still plugging away on my Double Delight and Orca Bay quilt patterns from Bonnie Hunter. While I was in the process of sewing leaders and enders I was able to complete these rows.
All that's left is sewing the rows together and then I can quilt it.

The twin size called for 40 blocks but I had enough fabric to make an additional 8 blocks which makes it bigger than twin size.  I loved the quick way of making the blocks and have plans on a queen size in batiks.  The pattern is Kwik Krazy Too by Two Kwik Quilters

If you don't climb the mountain, you can't view the plain.
