Closing Out the Year

As this year draws to a close, I want to wish everyone a very Happy and Prosperous New Year for 2016.  I don't make resolutions, I learned a long time ago that I did not keep my agreement, but some do and I hope for them a year full of achievements and accomplishments.

I stepped out of my box this year and made some great strides in my art.  Some I was happy with and some not so much, but that is the way we learn and progress.  We keep trying.  My last accomplishment for 2015 was this painting that became our Christmas card.  It seemed like it just fell into place and was created in less than 3 days.  I pray that all will be safe and sound through the coming year and life will treat you kind.  May God Bless you and fill your heart with Joy.

Mixed Media Collage

I am still working in my art journals and playing with mixed media.  Recently I tried a collage page. I had attempted collage before but was never happy with it.  Then I watched a video, again on you tube, and saw DeDe Willingham create a page with pieces of magazine photos and acrylic paint.  I gave it a try and really had fun.  I made my own little world or part of one anyway.  I will definitely do this process again.

Other mixed media pages I have created

A Long Time.....

It has really been a long time since I have done anything with this blog.  So much has happened in the last year that committing to blog posts were the last thing on my mind.

I am slowly trying to get it cleaned and updated with current paintings, etc.

I have decided to stream line the work I will do in the coming year which I think will give me time to get this blog back up and running smoothly.

I am still working in oils, still working on quilts even though I have only finished one this year, and still working in my mixed media journals.

I plan on more paintings and a one year study of art journal work, called Life Book 2016.  I have several quilts to finish or work on and I plan to do some more modern types this coming year.

Does this sound like stream lining?  Anyway, in my mind it does.  So I want to wish everyone out there a very Merry Christmas and Happy New Year and I hope to be in touch with you as the New Year begins.  Take Care and God Bless.
